STATEMENT
As
an artist, I make patterns. These patterns are abstract and
non-figurative. My patterns are suitable for large surfaces. Paper is my
usual foundation, due to its economy and convenience.
I
have studied and practiced drawing in the traditions of architecture
and the visual arts. I frequently emphasize canonical elements of design
such as contrast, repetition, and unity. I apply a variety of
techniques to make marks that denote position, placement, and I use a
process to describe multiple experiences – coincidences.
I
draw the urban subject as an ongoing project. In this work, I show street
plans, lot allocations, and building footprints that imply believable
social and cultural dispositions. All the possible positions between
locations and destinations consist of spaces in the public realm, which
creates an urban character.
PRODUCTIVITY
